HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROY……….HE TURNED 81 TODAY (4/24/2020) IN ROCK N’ ROLL HEAVEN.! HE WAS MY HERO, MY IDOL, MY MENTOR AND MY DEAR FRIEND! ROCK ON BIG O. I MISS AND CHERISH THE WONDERFUL TIMES WE SPENT TOGETHER!! YOU REALLY CHANGED MY LIFE!

Dennis, your posting on Roy O was indeed a special treat. I never knew Roy personally but was a lifelong HUGE fan of his. In fact, when people ask me my 5 favorite musical artists of all time, Roy is at the top of my list. He was a life-changer for a lot of people, including me to some extent.
As I mentioned sometime ago, I have his CDs and a video he did with other stars.
Very special!

Thanks for your remarks. He was the best….great talent, great guy too.
Whatever happened to that great post you wrote about going to the Midland Youth Center, seeing The Sparkles play, etc.? I wrote a huge response of my times there as well, but can’t find it anywhere. I finally admitted that I had a schoolboy crush on Lyn Stoletenberg Ray, LOL. She read it and sent me a sweet note…Ahh Ha,!!
Hey Wemus:
I haven’t transferred over all the stories and pictures yet. We have 150 stories already transferred and on the blog and I have more to go. It’s a tedious task and I apologize for the delay. I’ll work on getting your great stories transferred later tonight.

What a huge tragedy when we lost Roy Orbison.
I treasure a two CD collection of his songs, “The Essential Roy Orbison” and also the video “Black and White Night” with friends Jackson Browne, T Bone Burnett, Elvis Costello, k d lang, Bonnie Raitt, J D Souther, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, and Jennifer Barnes. Both of these treasures are very special.
I always drew parallels with Roy’s music and some of the songs of The Sparkles…on a different plain, of course.
Roy was one of the greatest talents of our time…and surely of all times.
more Wemus memories, please.
