Song written by Fred Parris and Performed by The Five Satins
This song is an iconic “doo-wop” classic; in fact, it is often credited with inspiring the word “doo-wop” since it could be heard in the background of the saxophone solo.
Please enjoy this classic from 1956.
In the Still of the Night
The Five Satins
In the still of the night
I held you
Held you tight
‘Cause I love
Love you so
Promise I’ll never
Let you go
In the still of the night
I remember
That night in May
The stars were bright above
I’ll hope and I’ll pray
To keep
Your precious love
Well before the light
Hold me again
With all of your might
In the still of the night
So before the light
Hold me again
With all of your might
In the still of the night
In the still of the night
J
Very enjoyable bit of nostalgia.
Thanks.

Great Memories…… How many of Us…… That was OUR SONG….
I love In the Still of the Night. It brings back many happy memories. My husband & I married in 1962. We were 18. He died at 52 in 1996. I can’t hear that song without tearing up.
Thank you for sharing with us! We are so sorry for the loss of your husband, but I am so happy we could bring back many happy memories for you.
